What is this?

Pierre Manchot is my nom de plume of a multi-genre fiction author who specializes in absurd storytelling. Essentially this blog is a repository for my thoughts on writing, books and tangentially related topics.

I’ll be up front about this: blogs are are form of content marketing and this one is no different. But my promise to you, the reader (as well myself), is that I’m going to do my best not to half ass it– you won’t see a 50 word post about how “the world needs to hear your story, so keep at it!” or some garbage. This isn’t an attempt to go viral for popularity’s sake. I just want to connect to a readership and put forth interesting ideas and lessons I’m learning along my dumb journey.

I will also say up front: these thoughts on craft and process are in no way definitive and they will evolve the more I write about them. I’m going to contradict myself. I’m going to repeat some concepts. I’m challenging a lot of ways that I think about my approach to fiction and attempting to figure out what I actually think about a lot of subjects. But hang in there, cowpokes, because if you stick with ol’ Pierre, you’re in for a wild ride.
